Strong 8K World on Android Phone, Tablet and TV Box
The most portable option, and the one to set up before a flight. The same installer covers a handset, a tablet and most Android or Google TV boxes.
Before you start
- An Android device running 6.0 or newer
- Your Strong 8K World login details
Download the installer
Open our Downloads page in the device browser and take the Android file. Punching a long address into a remote control is its own small punishment, so on a box use Downloader and our short code instead.
Approve the install
Android asks whether the browser is allowed to install applications. Approve it for that one app. You can revoke the permission afterwards and the player will carry on working.
Add your subscription
Add an account inside the player using the Xtream Codes option, then copy the server, username and password across from your account page. If you would rather fill in one box than three, the M3U link produces an identical list.
Turn on hardware decoding
In the player settings, switch decoding to hardware. On cheaper boxes, and on almost anything bought locally for very little, this is the difference between a clean picture and a stutter every few seconds.
Download for the journey
If you are about to travel, open the app once on your home connection so the channel list and guide are cached. It will then open far faster on a slow airport or hotel network.
Worth knowing
- On a phone, turn off battery optimisation for the player. Aggressive power saving is a common cause of a stream that dies after a few minutes on standby.
- A tablet on a plane will not stream, but a tablet in an airport lounge usually will. Sign in before you leave so you are not typing credentials on a public network.
- On a box at a second home, use the Ethernet port if there is one. Rented flats often have crowded Wi-Fi and a cable sidesteps all of it.
